she/her

Ren Allathkani is a Palestinian artist born in Fort Worth, Texas in 1998, and raised throughout several states within the U.S. such as Texas, Colorado and California. She spent her youth in the country of Jordan, where most of her family resides. Her family originated from Jaffa and Nablus, Palestine, and were then displaced into Amman, Jordan. She received her B.A. in Art Studio from UC Davis in 2021 and now has an art studio with Verge Center for the Arts where she currently practices her craft. Her work includes tatreez, which is a traditional form of Palestinian embroidery, as well as utilizing materials from nature within her pieces. Her work not only reestablishes her connection to the earth, but with her Palestinian culture as a way to connect with lost roots.
